About Tiko
Tiko is an African nonprofit committed to strengthening the potential and resilience of adolescent girls across Africa. We address the “Triple Threat” of unintended pregnancy, HIV infection, and sexual and gender-based violence by building local health ecosystems that provide stigma-free, no-cost, quality-assured services.
Our model brings together key local actors: community-based organizations (CBO) with peer mobilisers who act as health companions to girls; public and private health clinics that deliver care; and retail partners that redeem Tiko Miles -our behaviour-change incentive programme that rewards service uptake and feedback.
We invest in partners by strengthening CBO capacity, training frontline workers and providers, supporting clinic quality improvement, and compensating partners based on performance. Our technology platform connects all actors by enabling referrals, verifying service delivery, facilitating payments, and generating real-time data.

The Job
At Tiko, we do not believe in traditional, slow-moving corporate social responsibility. We build fast-moving, high-impact digital ecosystems that empower young women across Sub-Saharan Africa to take control of their health, well-being, and economic futures. As our Partnership Manager - Private Sector based in South Africa, you will act as our chief intrapreneur and deal-maker. Your core mission is to conceptualise, rapidly prototype, and scale innovative public-private partnerships (PPPs) designed to combat the "Triple Threat" facing girls and young women: HIV, unplanned pregnancies, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
This is a high-energy, entrepreneurial role. Instead of managing static agreements, you will be launching minimum viable products (MVPs), testing agile delivery models with retail pharmacy giants, experimenting with smart-locker logistics, and co-creating digital health campaigns with major telecoms. Reporting to our leadership, you will build a dynamic ecosystem that transforms bold private-sector pilots into scalable, long-term national solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Deal-Making
• Agile Engagement Strategy: Design and execute a rapid PPP engagement strategy that prioritises lightweight pilots, iterative experimentation, and quick feedback loops to address key health bottlenecks.
• Value Proposition Pitching: Identify and secure co-funding, corporate sponsorships, and in-kind private-sector resources by demonstrating how social impact directly aligns with corporate business objectives.
• Flexible Contract Negotiation: Lead complex cross-sector negotiations and draft highly adaptable Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) that allow us to test, learn, and pivot without legal friction.
Stakeholder Co-Creation & Governance
• Collaborative Prototyping: Convene and lead interactive co-creation workshops with private healthcare providers, retail pharmacies, and tech firms to map out experimental interventions.
• Internal Alignment: Work hand-in-hand with internal product and operational teams to screen, select, and integrate external innovations into Tiko's core platform.
• Shared Risk Management: Act as the primary, highly responsive interface for external corporate executives, ensuring transparent communication and mutual value across all active agreements.
Innovation, Testing & Scaling
• Last-Mile Logistics Experimentation: Partner with logistics and tech companies to pilot modern delivery models—such as on-demand delivery apps and smart lockers—to optimise healthcare access for girls and young women.
• Fintech & Telecom Integration: Collaborate with financial institutions and major telecoms (e.g., MTN, Vodacom) to prototype blended finance mechanisms, voucher systems, and targeted digital messaging campaigns.
• Data-Driven Evaluation: Define clear success metrics for each pilot, running rigorous variance and failure analyses before transitioning successful models into permanent, structured operations.
About You
You are a natural deal-maker who speaks both "corporate" and "development" fluently. You are comfortable walking into a boardroom of retail executives or startup founders and pitching a unique value proposition that drives mutual benefit. An agile mindset is your default state; you do not get discouraged when an assumption fails—you analyse the data, pivot, and try again. You thrive in fast-paced, unstructured environments and are deeply driven by the opportunity to use commercial mechanisms to solve complex, urgent public health challenges for our end users.
Requirements
• Experience Profile: 5–7 years of proven success in business development, innovation management, corporate partnerships, or strategic stakeholder engagement.
• Track Record: Demonstrated success launching new products, pilot projects, or cross-sector initiatives alongside private-sector executives, tech startups, NGOs, and donor-funded programmes.
• Sector Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the South African corporate landscape, particularly within retail pharmacy (e.g., Clicks, Dis-Chem), telecommunications (e.g., MTN, Vodacom), health logistics, or corporate social investment (CSI) frameworks.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Innovation/Entrepreneurship, Health Economics, or Development Studies. (Postgraduate qualifications, Master’s degree, or certifications in Agile/Design Thinking are highly preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range per month for this position is R56,419 - R70,524 gross. Your final salary will be determined based on your experience and alignment with your future colleagues
