Position Description
The Communications Coordinator at The Pursuit Church supports the day-to-day communication needs of the church by helping create clear, consistent, and timely communication across campuses and ministries. This role works closely with the Communications Director to help manage weekly communication rhythms, coordinate project details, gather information, and support the execution of print, digital, social, and internal communication.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about helping people stay connected to the life of the church. This person has a heart for ministry, enjoys working behind the scenes, and understands that excellent communication helps remove barriers so people can encounter God, take next steps, and grow in community.

Responsibilities
• Weekly Communication Support: Assist with the preparation and execution of weekly communication pieces, including Midweek News, sermon notes, YouVersion content, print bulletins, announcements, and other recurring communication needs.
• Project Coordination: Help track communication requests, deadlines, approvals, and project details to ensure ministry communication is completed clearly and on time.
• Content Gathering: Communicate with ministry leaders and campus teams to gather accurate information, event details, photos, stories, and updates for church-wide communication.
• Social Media: Assist with scheduling, organizing, and preparing social media content that reflects the voice, values, and rhythms of The Pursuit.
• Print and Digital: Help prepare, proofread, and organize communication materials for weekend services, events, ministry campaigns, and campus-specific needs.
• Culture Building: Foster a supportive, ministry-aligned team culture that reflects the heart and values of The Pursuit.
Qualifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Comfortable working with digital tools and learning new systems.
• Able to work collaboratively with staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
• Ability to proofread and edit for clarity, tone, and accuracy.
• Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, Planning Center, social media platforms, or similar tools is preferred.
• Ministry experience or church communication experience is helpful but not required.
• A heart for the local church and a desire to use communication as a ministry tool.
Other Responsibilities
• Be available for “all-in” church moments and special events.
• Engage in ongoing leadership development.
• Attend required regular weekly/monthly staff and team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Team.
Position Requirements
• System Minded (Workflow Optimization) – Optimizes and maintains the team's core communication tools and digital systems. This includes actively managing project trackers, communication request forms, shared organizational calendars, and platforms such as Mailchimp, Canva, Planning Center, and other essential software used by the Communications team.
• Team Minded (Cross-Campus Alignment) – Serves as a relational bridge to ensure all communication remains clear, cohesive, and consistent across all of The Pursuit’s campuses and ministries, while intentionally honoring the unique operational needs of each distinct location.
• Gatekeeper of Excellence (Quality Assurance & Accuracy) – Acts as the final line of defense for the church's public voice. This person possesses a meticulous eye for detail, upholding absolute accuracy, flawless proofreading, and strict brand fidelity in every piece of content produced, ensuring total alignment with The Pursuit’s tone and style guide.
• Collaborative (Project Coordination) – Partners closely with the Communications Director, staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and outside vendors to drive effective, timely project execution and seamless information flow.
• Culture Builder (Missional Alignment) – Actively champions and contributes to a healthy, vibrant, and collaborative communication culture that reflects the heart, mission, vision, and core values of The Pursuit.
