About this role

The Opportunity

As Fundraising Assistant located in Wellington, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate administration and processing of all donations that are received by the charity. This role is the first point of contact for supporter communications and is expected to manage and respond to queries to ensure a high level of donor satisfaction. In this pivotal role, you will also give, when required, additional support to the rest of the MarFun team – it’s a great way to get hands-on practical experience of the different areas of fundraising and develop your skills. Working as part of the Wellington-based Marketing & Fundraising team, every day you will play a crucial part in raising the vital funds that underpin our mission to prevent stroke, improve outcomes for stroke survivors and their whānau, and save lives across Aotearoa.

About You

We are looking for a person who is motivated to do the best job they can with a high degree of accuracy, has the ability to make our supporters feel like the most important people in the world (because they are!). Your ability to efficiently and accurately administer supporter donations, communications, and updates will be instrumental in ensuring that Stroke Aotearoa is here for everyone who needs us. The position will suit someone who has had at least a year’s experience in a similar database admin or customer services role and is keen to explore a fundraising career.

To be part of our team it is essential that you:

• Have well developed communication and administrative skills,

• Have at least one year’s experience in a similar or customer-services role

• Are able to work independently as well as part of a wider team,

• Can demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail

• Have experience of using a database as part of your role

Preferred applicants will have:

• An understanding of fundraising and the importance of charity supporters

• Hands on experience of Salesforce or a similar CRM

• Project management skills

This role is mostly office-based and requires the applicant to be eligible to work within New Zealand.
