Location: Pikeville or Prestonsburg (Serving Bell, Floyd, Harlan, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Perry, and Pike counties)
Reports To: Outreach & Retention Project Manager
The Field Operations Coordinator will strategically lead outreach components of the EKY Runway Project. This position will implement and continuously refine outreach strategies to find clients for the program. The Field Operations Coordinator is client facing to support program goals and outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Recruitment and Outreach:
• Travel extensively throughout the 12-county project service territory to promote the Eastern Kentucky Runway project and to locate prime age employment gap (PAEG) individuals eligible for entry into the project
• Conduct outreach to identify and engage PAEG individuals
• Exercises independent judgement on locations and territory to conduct in-person outreach
• Determine high-impact outreach zones based on an analysis of each area
• Set up booths or informational sessions at community events, local businesses, and public spaces
• Visit potential clients in recovery facilities, jails, detention centers, and other community hubs to ensure broad reach
• Build relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and institutions to facilitate recruitment efforts
• Community Engagement:
• Facilitate 1-on-1 and group conversations with community members to explain the EKY Runway project and its benefits
• Tailor and deliver key project messages to diverse audiences including underserved and marginalized populations
• Serve as a community ambassador, representing SOAR’s mission and values in all interactions
• Data Management & Reporting:
• Maintain daily logs detailing mileage, contacts made, and conversations held
• Input all recruitment outputs and outcomes into the project CRM system with accuracy and timeliness
• Compile comprehensive weekly reports on recruitment outcomes and progress, sharing insights with Outreach & Retention leadership
• Operational Support:
• Communicate barriers, challenges, and community feedback to project leadership to continuously refine outreach strategies
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistent messaging and strategic alignment
• Adhere to standardized processes and procedures for outreach and data management
Expectations
• Demonstrated ability to identify and engage marginalized populations
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners
• Proven experience in program coordinator, strategic outreach, and/or field-based project management
• Strong interest in fostering economic prosperity in Eastern Kentucky communities
• Leading initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for building trust and rapport
• Comfortable with extensive travel within the project service territory
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Regular and reliable attendance required
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Must be able to handle prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or standing at an event
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time when necessary
