About this role

Job summary

Applications are invited for a 12-month fixed term, Locum Radiology Consultant with an interest in Gastrointestinal (GI) Radiology in the Radiology Department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a replacement full time/part time appointment to support imaging for gastrointestinal and general radiology.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of this post include reporting general and specialist GI radiology, performing image guided biopsies and drainages, and participating in MDTs, teaching and research.

The Radiology Department is actively engaged in a wide range of research and educational activities Norwich hosts one of four Radiology Academies in England with an active teaching programme for the Specialty Trainees to which the successful candidate will be expected to contribute.

Qualifications Essential

oAccreditation in Clinical Radiology and on the specialist register at or within 6 months of the AAC oFull GMC registration with a licence to practise. oFRCR or equivalent.

oMRCP/FRCS

Aptitudes Essential

oGood communicator. oCapable of working in a multi-disciplinary team. oEnthusiasm for service development and teaching. oDemonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Desirable

oPrevious responsibility for service improvement. oManagement skills.

Experience Essential

oAwareness of the role of research in clinical practice. oExtensive GI Radiology experience including US and CT guided biopsies and drainages as documented by specialist training or experience at consultant level.

oExperience in research or published papers in area of special interest

Circumstances Essential

oFlexible outlook on working hours. oFull driving license.

Communications and Language Skills Essential

oAbility to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues and support staff across the organisation. oAbility to present effectively to an audience, using a variety of methods, and to respond to questions and queries.
