With small class sizes and a student-centered approach, the MET empowers every learner to thrive, explore their potential, and develop the skills and values needed to succeed in a global society</p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Job Description</H2> </div><div><p><strong>General Purpose</strong></p> <p>The Learning Support Assistant provides specialized support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring inclusive access to the curriculum and facilitates academic, social and emotional growth.</p> <p><strong>Reporting to:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Exceptional Education Program Coordinator.</li> <li>Exceptional Education Program Specialists.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Key Relationships</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Elementary and/or Secondary Principals,</li> <li>Homeroom Teachers, Specialist teachers, Parents</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Key Responsabilities</H2> </div><div><p><strong>Engagement and Interaction</strong></p> <ul> <li>To ensure that day to day operations, programs and practices reflect the school’s mission and philosophy of "Be Ambitious".</li> <li>To proactively communicate with students, colleagues and parents/caregivers in a respectful, clear, caring and professional way.</li> <li>To carry out EEP students&apos; supervisory duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Teaching and Learning</strong></p> <ul> <li>To deliver coherent, well-planned and well-sequenced personalized academic, behavioral,social and/or emotional support to assigned students in collaboration with EEP Specialists.</li> <li>To provide one-on-one or small group in-class or pull-out support for students.</li> <li>To use a range of strategies to complement teaching programs, support and intervention that are responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students.</li> <li>To support class teachers to provide a stimulating,positive and caring learning environment for all students.</li> <li>To make good use of IT as appropriate to support the learning and personal needs of individual students.</li> <li>To prepare timely and meaningful feedback, reports and notifications to students and parents using a variety of communication means.</li> <li>To maintain clear records pertaining to students.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Professional and Personal Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Stay current on best practices and research in the field of special education.</li> <li>Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.</li> <li>Collaborate and share expertise and resources.</li> <li>To participate in our performance evaluationprocesses to develop both professionally and personally.</li> </ul> <p> </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Required Skills/Abilities</H2> </div><div><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Training</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate degree or last year bachelor&apos;s degree in special education, education, psychopedagogy, or similar areas.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in special education.</li> <li>Degree, training or similar qualification in tier 1, 2, 3 intervention programs.</li> <li>Further qualification and/or in diverse needs areas.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience/Knowledge</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of one year supporting special needs/high-risk population.</li> <li>Data monitoring knowledge.</li> <li>Performance screeners application.</li> <li>Knowledge of national and/or IB curriculum.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Takes personal responsibility.</li> <li>Actively seeks feedback for improvement.</li> <li>Collaborates willingly with others.</li> <li>Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to different tasks at hand.</li> <li>Proactive and able to prompt others to ensure deadlines and targets.</li> <li>are achieved, calm working under pressure.</li> <li>High level of integrity.</li> <li>Excellent time management and organizational skills.</li> <li>Proficient communicator, both oral and written English.</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail.</li> <li>Affinity with and interest in education.</li> </ul></div></div></div>
