Working closely with the Associate Director, Sustainability Reporting, they play a key role in advancing the Bank’s sustainability reporting agenda at a time of significant regulatory and market change, contributing to high-impact, externally visible outputs and help shape best practices in the sector. Background The sustainability reporting function within Financial Control is responsible for coordinating the Bank’s externally assured sustainability disclosures. This involves close collaboration with multiple functions across the Bank, including Climate Risk Management, Environment & Sustainability, and Climate Strategy & Delivery, Data Governance, Communication’s and others. The team leads the implementation and application of sustainability reporting standards and works closely with data owners across the organisation to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency of reported information. It also coordinates with internal and external auditors to support the external assurance process. The Associate role is a key contributor to this process, working across departments to support the preparation of disclosures, improve data quality and strengthen reporting processes. The role contributes to the drafting, coordination and validation of sustainability disclosures including the annual materiality assessment, supports the external assurance process, and helps ensure that appropriate controls, processes and documentation are in place to enable high-quality, decision-useful sustainability reporting.
