Job summary

Salaried GP

Up to £11.6k per session 2 sessions per week Fixed-term to March 2027With patient care at the forefront of all that we do, we have recently moved to a triage system to improve patient access. No more crazy 8am rush or telephone lottery for patients, instead we review patients on a needs basis, providing them with the right care, when they need it. For GPs, this refocuses your work on those patients that genuinely need a GP.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve a variety of face-to-face and telephone appointments and will include appointments to complete ward rounds and home visits.

You will work among a team of like-minded GPs, nurses and HCAs and will be supported by a GP Clinical Lead.

Job description Job responsibilities

Clinical Care: Provide patient care via face-to-face, telephone, digital consultations and home visits. Prescribe medications, request and interpret diagnostic tests, and manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions and minor injuries. Deliver preventative care including vaccinations, health screening and health promotion.

Triage & Patient Navigation: Participate in the triage hub rota, support the navigation team with clinical advice, and review or manage patient queries allocated to the GP.

Safeguarding: Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns, follow safeguarding protocols and escalate concerns promptly, seeking guidance from the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Group Manager when required.

Professional Development: Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge through ongoing training, peer learning and supervision. Support the education and training of students, junior doctors and other healthcare professionals where appropriate.

Clinical Governance & Quality: Support the practice in meeting national targets (e.g. QOF, IIF and access standards), comply with clinical governance requirements, participate in audits and meetings, and manage time effectively across clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Record of on-going CPD and learning. MRCGP examination or equivalent experience. Knowledge of clinical governance. Will have an understanding of the political agenda and drivers influencing primary care provision. Good organisational and IT skills desirable Will have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working as part of a team. Will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Qualifications Essential

An experienced doctor with GP accreditation. Current registration with GMC and NHS performers list (with no conditions preventing working or restrictions on practice).
