Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have an interest in clinical research and would like to do more? EMP Medical Practice, on behalf of Central and West Warrington Primary Care Network (CWWPCN) would like to hear from you.

We are an established clinical research team, undertaking clinical research studies in primary care since 2022. Working with the 7 GP Practices of this PCN, we deliver clinical research studies alongside high-quality clinical care.

We are looking for you if you are a great organiser, can work independently and have an eye for meticulous detail. You will coordinate the clinical trials and support the clinical researchers to deliver the research.

This post is for 12 hours per week

Experience desired but not essential as training will be given.

You will be supported by a well- established research team based within the PCN.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Research Administrator will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be involved in the set-up, support of and reporting of clinical trials (both commercial and non-commercial) which are being conducted by CWWPCN. You will support this team with governance and administration of research dutirs. A keen eye for detail and good organisational skills are a must. The post holder will be required to monitor and manage a busy research email inbox whilst managing approvals and other systems within this department.

Causeway Medical Centre, Dallam Lane Surgery, Eric Moore Partnership Medical Practice, Folly Lane Medical Centre, Helsby Street Surgery , Penketh Health Centre and Westbrook Medical Centre.

Our friendly Practice teams support all the core and extended colleague employees. You will be supported with induction and training, the role being funded by the North West Coast Clinical Research Network

Job description Job responsibilities

General and clerical duties

· Maintain standards of Good Clinical practice at all times.

· Assist with the efficient and timely set up of clinical trials within PCN, ensuring that all approvals are obtained and stored.

· Assist in considering feasibility of participating in future studies, through TPP auditing

· Assist with quality assurance of all trial related documentation in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.

· Maintain “Edge” database of patients invited for trial participation.

· Assist with preparation for audit and inspections within assigned trials

· Assist with maintenance of clinical trial documentation and site files.

· Assist with the tracking and raising of invoices and the development of systems and processes to capture this trial income.

· Ensure that data is available and up to date for any PCN research meetings.

· Assist with the preparation of audit and inspections documents.

· Co-ordinate responses from investigators and team members, collate and report.

· Assist to ensure that trial document is archived following the archiving guidelines.

· Ensure that office/trial related supplies are adequate and assist with the ordering process.

· Undertake general administrative tasks as delegated to contribute to the smooth running of the team.

· If required attend project related meetings, investigator meetings to convey the relevant information to study teams.

The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the PCN as part of this employment, such training to include:

· Maintain strict confidentiality of all information gained in the course of employment

· Attend training update courses as appropriate to maintain competent standards within their role

· Undertake annual performance review with their manager
