£15.75 per hour during standard hours (Mon-Fri 8am - 6pm)£20.50 per hour for weekendsZero-hours contract (employed) or locum basis considered
We are looking for experienced and reliable Bank Vaccinators to support the delivery of our autumn and winter flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccination programmes.
Most shifts will be available throughout October and November, with the possibility of further ad hoc hours to support other vaccination programmes during the year.
The role is suitable for registered healthcare professionals, including:
NursesMidwivesPharmacy TechniciansPharmacistsParamedicsDietitiansOccupational TherapistsPhysiotherapistsPodiatrists
Applications are also welcomed from clinicians currently working on a locum or self-employed basis, otherwise successful applicants will be engaged under a zero-hours contract.

We are made up of 2 sites, one in Topsham and a branch site at Countess Wear.
The 2 sites are spacious with a variety of consulting and administration rooms with a pharmacy based at the Glasshouse site.
We care for over 11,900 patients across a large practice boundary from Middlemoor and St Leonards to Lympstone in the South and Aylesbeare in the East.

To support the safe and effective delivery of seasonal flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccination programmes, primarily during October and November. The postholder will work as part of the vaccination team which sits within the Nursing Team, administering intramuscular vaccinations in accordance with current clinical guidance, local procedures and the appropriate legal framework.
Main duties and responsibilitiesUndertake appropriate pre-vaccination checks, including confirming eligibility, consent and any contraindications.Administer intramuscular vaccinations safely and competently.Provide patients with clear information about the vaccination and possible side effects.Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.Follow relevant Patient Group Directions, Patient Specific Directions, national protocols and local policies, as applicable.Maintain appropriate infection prevention and control standards.Recognise and respond appropriately to adverse reactions, including anaphylaxis.Work within professional boundaries and escalate any clinical concerns when required.Support the efficient running of vaccination clinics and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.Complete all required vaccination-specific training and competency assessments.Essential requirementsThe postholder must:
Be a registered healthcare professional with current, unrestricted registration with the NMC, HCPC or GPhC.Have previous experience of administering intramuscular vaccinations.Be able to work safely within their professional scope of practice.Hold, or be willing to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check.Be available to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.This is a zero-hours bank position, with most shifts expected to be available during October and November. Additional ad hoc work may be offered to support other vaccination programmes.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Have previous experience of administering intramuscular vaccinations. Be able to work safely within their professional scope of practice. Hold, or be willing to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check.
Additional requirements Essential
Be available to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends. Hold an up to date resuscitation and anaphylaxis certificate (or be willing to undertake this via eLearning for Health).
Qualifications Essential
Be a registered healthcare professional with current, unrestricted registration with the NMC, HCPC or GPhC. Already hold or be willing to to undertake the necessary training updates to administer the vaccinations required
