Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Durham and Darlington Neurodevelopmental Pathway and take part in assessment for neurodevelopmental disorders in children and young people age 0-18. This is a well-established service with high demand and the individual would be joining at an exciting time of transformation.
We are an experienced team who will support the successful applicant to develop their skills within this area of practice.
This post is not open to trainees therefore the successful applicants will need a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent to be recruited into thisBand 4 position.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates would be expected to work alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team as well as liaise with external agencies such as education and local authority.
The candidate will be completing clinical observations, coordinating information and participating in diagnostic decision-making as part of the MDT.

Job description Job responsibilities
The post holder will carry out observational assessments of children and young people in a variety of contexts such as clinic, home and school. The observations will be fed back to the wider MDT and help inform the decision around diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. The post holder will gather relevant information from internal CAMHS teams as well as external agencies such as Local Authority, school, and NHS services.
The role can be demanding but also highly rewarding so you will need to be someone who is motivated, resilient and passionate about working with this client group.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Essential
Level 5 Accredited Qualification in a Health related subject Or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and willingness to work towards achieving a Level 5 Accredited Qualification in a health related subject (to be achieved within 2 years) Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent) Previous experience with working with people with Mental ill Health or Learning Disabilities working as a HCA or equivalent in a care environment e.g. Care worker in a Care Home, Domiciliary Worker, Lived Experience Carer. Person Centred Care Awareness of legal frameworks including Mental Health legislation eg Mental Health Act or Mental Capacity Act.
Skills Essential
Time management and ability to prioritise effectively Competency in record keeping (within agreed timescales) Effective verbal and written communication skills Approved techniques in physical intervention (within agreed timescale).

Competency in ECG and venepuncture
