About this role

Job summary

We have a vacancy for a Rapid Response Domestic Assistant, working Part time Monday to Friday 3pm to 8pm

Please do not apply if you do not have domestic experience as this role requires you to have some domestic experience. It is a reactive role which may range from general ward/clinic cleaning to completing full deep cleans to reduce infection spread within a fast paced environment.

You will be required to undertake a wide range of cleaning duties associated with maintaining a high standard of cleanliness ensuring that at all time a high quality service provision is offered, maintaining Trust values.

Full training will be provided but the role does require a person to be able to safely use equipment including ladders around the site. Also able to transport equipment and cleaning material to different wards. Identify correct curtains for replacement and communicate with the supervisor and ward staff.

You will be involved in the cleaning preparation and service of patient areas, including bedded areas, wards, departments, clinics, theatres or any other non occupied areas.

You will be required to undertake a wide range of cleaning and duties associated with maintaining a high standard of cleanliness ensuring that at all time a high quality service provision is offered, maintaining Trust values.

Main duties of the job

Cleaning wards, clinics, theatres and offices to National cleaning standards Adhering to infection control policy's and procedures Utilising cleaning equipment safely and ensuring deep cleans are completed timely and thoroughly. Changing curtains as and when required Careful use of UV machine for deep cleans Using handheld device for reporting of jobs and tablet for machines Safely using ladders and transporting of equipment around the hospital Cleaning includes public areas, toilets, bathrooms, staff rooms Completing periodic (Deep cleaning) tasks Duties include mopping, hoovering, damp dusting, tap cleaning amongst other tasks Following on the job training instructions and ensuring compliance of manual handling polices Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures Using cleaning machinery as required as per training Cleaning experience essential for all posts

Job description Job responsibilities

Carry out routine and deep cleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas, including wards, departments, corridors, and patient areas Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in line with NHS cleaning specifications and infection prevention standards Clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures, fittings, and equipment using appropriate cleaning products and methods Maintain patient environments, including bed spaces, bathrooms, and isolation rooms, ensuring dignity and comfort Safely handle and dispose of clinical, domestic, and hazardous waste in accordance with Trust policies Replenish cleaning supplies, consumables, and PPE as required Undertake scheduled cleaning tasks (daily, weekly, periodic) and respond to ad hoc cleaning requests Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or risks promptly to supervisors Follow all infection prevention and control (IPC) procedures, including use of PPE and colour-coded cleaning systems Work as part of a team to meet service delivery standards and deadlines Support outbreak/incident cleaning, including enhanced cleaning during infection control situations Maintain accurate cleaning records and documentation where required Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, including safe use of equipment and manual handling procedures Provide a courteous, respectful service to patients, visitors, and staff at all times Adhere to Trust policies, procedures, and values
