An exciting opportunity has arose for a 30 hour dynamic, patient focused, Ward Manager to work within our Day Treatment Unit at Furness General Hospital.
We are seeking a caring, compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse for the Position of Ward Manager at our Crosland's Day Treatment unit at FGH.
Main duties of the job
As a ward manager you will develop and lead the Crosland's team, who take pride in their work and the challenges faced.You will contribute to developing new innovative ways to improve patient care and patient experience within our day treatment units.
We are seeking a caring, compassionate experienced Registered Nurse who candemonstrateexcellent leadership skills, can delegate effectively, and work effectively and efficiently as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be reliable, flexible, motivated, have excellent clinical and managerial skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, a commitment to delivering high quality care and be willing and open to embracing positive change and transformation.
The post holder will be expected to workMonday to Friday, daytime hours only no nights or weekends.
The Matron will work closely with the successful candidate providing development and support.
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals - Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), FurnessGeneral Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well asa number ofcommunity healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGHprovidesa range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threateningconditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitalsprovidea range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, communityhospitalsand our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve theirhealthand manage their conditions through high quality care,adviceand support.

We are looking at the successful candidate todemonstratethe skills, knowledge and relevant experience required, to lead and manage a busy elective and general surgical ward, withthe supportofstrong and committed multi-disciplinary teams across both areas.
Person Specification
Education Essential
1st level Registered Nurse Mentoring/assessing qualification or teaching qualification eg City & Guilds, Professional Trainers Certificate At least 2 years experience at band 6 level Evidence of change - Project initiatives and evidence of improving care
Desirable
Recent leadership development or willingness to work towards a leadership qualification Experience of managing rosters/budgets/procurement Experience of managing risk/ complaints/grievances.
