We are currently looking for 2 Healthcare Assistants to join our extensive Nursing Team, and we welcome applications from people with a wide range of care and patient-facing backgrounds.
The exact working hours are flexible and will be agreed with the successful candidate, and we are open to discussing part-time or full-time arrangements.
The successful candidate will be expected to work either morning sessions, afternoon sessions or full-day sessions, depending on the agreed working pattern and service requirements. There will also be the expectation to undertake some extended access hours.
Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK and must not require sponsorship now or at any point in the future for this role.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurses and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.

About us
Portsdown Group Practice covers the whole of Portsmouth from postcodes PO1 to PO7. We operate from 6 surgeries: Cosham Park House (PO6 3BG), Crookhorn Lane (PO7 5XP, Heyward Road (PO4 0DY), Kingston Crescent (PO2 8AL), Paulsgrove (PO6 4HJ), and Somerstown (PO5 4EZ).
We are our own Primary Care Network (PCN). We have Clinical Partners, Salaried GPs and a comprehensive Nursing and extended clinical team overseen by our Clinical Team Manager. The team consists of Nurse / Paramedic Practitioners, Registered Nurses, HCAs, MSK Physiotherapists, Podiatrist, Social Prescribers and Care Co-ordinators. The Pharmacy team consists of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Multi-disciplinary teams work across all sites.
Job description Job responsibilities
Assist Medical Personnel in the care of Practice Patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. The post will also include some administrative duties.
Act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the GP Surgery Team.
