About the RoleAs an Intermediate Developer (6-12 month contract), you'll be involved in all software development activities as part of an Agile team, including estimating, sprint planning, software development life cycle activities, code reviews, research, deployments, and documentation. You'll also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, helping ensure the delivery of high-quality software that aligns with customer needs, technical architecture, development standards, and quality practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development (70%)
Contribute as a developer in an agile team, collaborating with technical and non-technical team members, and working closely with database, back-end, and front-end stacks
Ensure software deliverables align with the technical architecture, development standards, and quality practices
Assist in building and executing integrated unit tests for all code modules
Develop well-written, intent-revealing code
Assist in ensuring observability of the team's code and products, and monitor them in a live environment, ensuring high availability and reliability
Produce thorough documentation outlining high-level architecture, flow, sequence diagrams, blockers, risks, and other technical considerations as needed
Work on bugs that need immediate attention to unblock our customers
Teamwork & Collaboration (30%)
Participate in peer review activities
Participate in a learning environment through collaboration, shared knowledge, and leadership
Work within the agile team to gather production metrics and stakeholder feedback and use them to iterate and grow team projects
Mentor and guide junior developers
Collaborate with senior developers to work on features of a big project
Collaborate with product managers to get clarity on project requirements
Key QualificationsStrong understanding of relational databases and their usage in software development
Strong proficiency in Python
Demonstrated working experience in software development, with a focus on delivering high-quality software
Have delivered at least one feature end-to-end in collaboration with other developers
Basic understanding of REST APIs and their function in web development
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
BonusProven expertise in Django and Django Rest Framework
Experience delivering SaaS software in an agile environment
Experience collaborating with product managers to define and clarify requirements, and ensuring successful delivery of software products
Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs, with an understanding of best practices for authentication and authorization mechanisms
Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting deployed code on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a professional/enterprise environment
Experience working with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
