Job Purpose:
Our Testing Lab Technician will perform a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature ensuring compliance with company, customer, industry and regulatory requirements. This position supports the business and our customers by performing standardized tests, producing and documenting reliable results, preparing technical reports and maintaining safe laboratory environment. Job Responsibilities:
● Conduct testing such as ISTA distribution and cold chain tests. ● Document test data and test reports using Good Documentation Practices. ● Interpret and execute industry test standards from organizations such as ISTA, ASTM, and customer protocols. ● Safely operate test lab equipment. ● Work on multiple projects simultaneously. ● Maintain responsive communication with sales reps and customers regarding test status, updates, and results. ● Work collaboratively with internal departments. ● Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
● Minimum 1 year industry or testing lab experience or packaging related degree. ● Have a basic understanding of packaging principles and types of corrugated boxes. ● ISTA Packaging Dynamics Professional certification preferred. ● Ability to work independently, successfully manage accounts, work under pressure, and adapt to changes in the work environment is essential. ● CAD software experience (ArtiosCAD, Solidworks) preferred.
Work Experience:
● 1-3 years of related job experience.
● Ability to work in a team environment.
● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
● Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
● Strong planning and organization skills are required.
● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
Education:
● Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: ● Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. ● Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. ● Ability to handle packaging samples and testing equipment safely. ● Ability to work in both laboratory and warehouse environments.
