The Role
This is a highly specialized cardiology nursing position focused on the management, monitoring, and follow-up care of patients with pacemakers, ICDs, and other implanted cardiac devices. The role combines direct patient care with advanced technology, critical thinking, patient education, and collaboration across multiple care settings.
Unlike many traditional nursing positions, this role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in cardiac rhythm management while supporting patients throughout the lifecycle of their implanted device. Your work will span outpatient care, remote monitoring, inpatient consultations, and outreach activities, creating a dynamic and engaging clinical experience.

In this role, you will:
• Perform routine pacemaker and defibrillator evaluations
• Conduct device assessments before provider appointments
• Complete post-operative follow-up visits and wound evaluations
• Educate patients on device function, home monitoring systems, and ongoing care needs
• Review and analyze remote monitoring transmissions
• Generate reports, document findings, and monitor patients longitudinally through advanced technology platforms
• Support device patients across inpatient units, procedural areas, recovery settings, and specialty care locations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and electrophysiology specialists to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in outreach clinic support as operational needs require
• Continuously expand your expertise as cardiac device technology evolves

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $42.69 - $56.71 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
