About the Role
We’re looking for a Sales Tax & Compliance Specialist to support a fast-growing U.S. company with multi-state sales tax setup and ongoing compliance. You’ll handle everything from registering new entities in each state to filing for seller’s permits and ensuring accurate tax collection and remittance across jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Register the company for sales tax and seller’s permits in all required U.S. statesCoordinate with accounting to create and maintain state-specific tax accountsManage multi-state filings for sales and use tax, ensuring deadlines are metTrack nexus requirements and maintain compliance as the business expandsReconcile monthly and quarterly tax reports with internal accounting recordsLiaise with state agencies regarding applications, renewals, and compliance issuesMaintain organized records and process documentation across all statesRequirements
Qualifications
2+ years of experience with U.S. state tax registration, filings, or complianceBackground in accounting, tax operations, or finance (preferred in eCommerce or SaaS)Familiar with tools like Avalara, TaxJar, or similar platformsStrong written and spoken English — able to communicate directly with U.S. tax agenciesHighly detail-oriented and organized — this role requires tracking dozens of moving partsProactive, independent, and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision
