Job Description: *Highland Hospital is seeking a full time Patient Relations Representative for the Emergency Department. This position is Monday-Friday, primarily Day shift with Evenings hours as required.

The Patient Relations Representative in the Emergency Department serves as a pivotal resource for patients and their families within the ED's dynamic and often unpredictable environment. This role demands immediate, proactive engagement to expertly address and resolve complex concerns, special needs, and intricate care issues. The Representative collaborates directly with ED and hospital staff, serving as a vital liaison to promptly solve problems, educate on ED throughput, and skillfully de-escalate difficult or volatile patient situations. This position requires exceptional problem-solving skills, creativity, and independent judgment to thoroughly investigate inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution. Thriving in a dynamic, fast paced environment, the Representative consistently embodies ICARE values, exhibiting a professional demeanor and exercising independent, critical judgment.

SALARY RANGE: $55,000-81,727.11

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity consideration

Job Requirements: Qualifications: A caring and empathetic manner with the ability to establish rapport with all customers. Candidate demonstrates excellent customer services skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as needed.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3 years of hospital experience required. Social Work, Nursing, Quality or other clinical professional is preferred. Experience dealing with the public with an emphasis on customer relations, preferably in a clinical setting is preferred. Skills: Highly organized, attention to detail, ability to problem solve and adjust to changing priorities in a busy environment.
