About this role
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) serves the communities of West Texas through its Rural and Community Engagement Division. With a focus on providing health access points in rural areas, as well as health promotion, health workforce development, and training, we are actively improving access to healthcare in our rural communities. We also include opportunities to participate in community and rural experiences to our vast network of learners in medicine, nursing and additional programs. The WellPoint Regional Chair of Rural Health will work with the TTUHSC Division of Rural Affairs to support increased access to quality healthcare, address health disparities, and advance health equity in rural communities in West Texas. They will also lead efforts for the School of Medicine Odessa campus by leveraging existing infrastructure and programs and implementing new policies and projects to improve access to care. The position sits at the level of the Regional Department Chairs and reports to the Regional Dean, Odessa Campus.
