Main Function: Reporting to the Vice President North America Softseed Crush, this position will be responsible for the trading, logistics coordination and risk management of internal and third party canola meal. This position is part of the canola meal team, accountable for optimizing the trade of canola meal, managing freight and hedge exposure and delivering consistent P&L performance. The position requires advanced strategic thinking, deep global market expertise, disciplined risk management, and the ability to influence across functions. This individual will act as a leader within the organization, communicating global market intelligence while strengthening customer and internal relationships. • Trade canola meal from internal and third party suppliers • Identify and execute global arbitrage opportunities across destinations and origins • Collaborate positively with internal crush and global trade colleagues • Strategically seek out new business to drive growth • Optimize freight spreads through various railroads • Develops a clear understanding of local, national, & world markets • Make timely, risk-adjusted commercial decisions in volatile markets and defend them logically • Develop and execute hedge strategies using futures and spreads • Analyze global supply/demand, crush margins and competitive forces • Execute contracts including execution windows and quality specifications • Monitor replacement economics, margin performance, and position exposure • Provide market intelligence to our global teams • Prepare month end accounting documents and perform month end reporting requirements • Effectively represent ADM on trade association committees • Ensure individual goals are aligned with corporate goals • Constantly works on individual personal development within the company • Understand and has strict adherence to corporate compliance policies • Is willing to work outside normal business hours including weekends Qualifications: • University degree in agriculture or business (i.e economics, finance, accounting) and a minimum of 3 years of grain/product merchandising experience • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered • Ability to excel within high-risk fast-paced work environment • Ability to assess global risk and exercise sound judgement in making decisions • Negotiation and interpersonal skills • Strong understanding of freight markets and international trade flows • Experience managing derivatives exposure • Ability to work in a team environment • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet. : Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
