As an Assistant Dining Room Server, you will greet and provide service to 32-44 guests of all ages over 2 seatings each evening in three themed dining rooms. You will maintain and ensure cleanliness of areas to uphold USPH and Disney standards. This role has high guest interaction and is a tipped position. You will report to the Assistant Restaurant Manager.

You must: • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan • Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control • If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulation Your Responsibilities: • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this) • Complete a pre-employment medical • Obtain a criminal background check • Bring approved work shoes **Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.
Basic Qualifications: Required Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum six months experience working as a server in the food & beverage industry in a high volume full-service restaurant (minimum 100 – 150+ covers per meal period); experience must be within the last two years • Basic knowledge of food and beverage including international wines and cocktail recipes as well as brands of alcohol • Comfort in speaking to a group (10 – 12 people), providing a comprehensive menu spiel as well as food and beverage recommendations • Must be able to carry a banquet tray and be able to lift and/or move 50 pound items

Responsibilities: What You Will Do
• You will organize and coordinate service for 16-22 guests in the dining room (2 dinner seatings per night) • Responsibilities include handling all types of food products including meat, pork, shellfish, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, sesame and nut products • Coordinate the service and follow the direction of the Dining Room Server to provide a seamless experience to guests • Provide service for breakfast and lunch in full-service locations, Quick Service and fast food outlets, and buffets • Use computer work station to ring in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (Micros system) • Understand food safety programs and maintain USPH (United States Public Health) sanitation and cleanliness standards throughout work area • Practice up-selling and suggestive selling techniques • Follow all responsible vendor procedures for alcohol service, including request guest's proof of identity to verify age and can discontinue serving alcohol to specific guests • Additional responsibilities may be included during midnight buffet and deck party service • Complete additional job responsibilities, including Castaway Cay duties as assigned by leadership, based on operational need • Follow all company set procedures, along with all maritime and ship rules, regulations and procedures
