As a Custodial - Floor Care Host, you are instrumental in ensuring the floor cleanliness of all of our Guest and Crew areas. This includes the distribution of Guest luggage on embarkation and debarkation days.
You will report directly to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Additional Information: This is a SHIPBOARD role. Applicants must:
• Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel • Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan • Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control • Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices • Be willing to share a cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment • Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations • Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally Your Responsibilities:
• Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this) • Complete a pre-employment medical • Obtain a criminal background check • Bring approved work shoes **Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.
Basic Qualifications: • One year of Professional cleaning or janitorial experience, within the last 3 years, including knowledge of cleaning chemicals and tools • Floor cleaning equipment experience, with knowledge in floor care, preventative maintenance, and machine handling • Flexibility to shifts cover both day and night. Can be scheduled as custodial (NON-floor care) when needed • Endurance to lift 50 lbs, bend, push, as well as extensive walking, standing and stretching
Responsibilities: • Responsible for upkeep of all flooring types for all Venues including the daily routine cleanings and rotational deep cleaning • Ensure upkeep, maintenance and troubleshooting of all floor care equipment (such as buffers, shampoo machine); ensure machines are kept in good repair at all times. • Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies needed to operate equipment • Attend to all service orders relating to floor care; ensure follow up whenever needed • Connect with appropriate support team members of services as required, including the Technical team for repair issues. Dispatch any service orders needed to specialty team when addition follow up is required • Maintain equipment and supply lockers; maintain accurate inventory • Ensure accurate handling of equipment and cleaning chemicals • Assist the Hosts in cleaning Guest cabins as determined by Housekeeping Manager • Assist with luggage operation during embark and debark process to handle and distribute Guest luggage • Perform other related tasks as designated by Asst. Housekeeping Manager
