This person will be accountable for the stability, performance, and scalability of enterprise infrastructure platforms, while ensuring disciplined and on-time delivery of strategic initiatives. The role sits within Tech Operations and reports directly to the Head of Tech Operations. Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead and develop a high-performing expert infrastructure engineering team responsible for the resolution of complex, escalated incidents and the continuous improvement of infrastructure platforms.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for infrastructure issues impacting production environments (servers, networking, storage, cloud, virtualisation, and end-user computing).</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Define and enforce infrastructure standards, configuration baselines, and operational runbooks.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Drive automation and tooling initiatives to reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and accelerate incident resolution.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Partner with Infra Services, App Services, and Service Operations teams to ensure seamless service continuity.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements across all infrastructure domains.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Collaborate cross-functionally with Infra Services, Digital Transformation Ops, Asset Management, and vendor partners to align delivery efforts.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices, embedding lessons learned into future programmes. </li> </ul> People & Stakeholder Management: <ul> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Manage, mentor, and grow a team of tier 3 infrastructure engineers.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Tech Operations and the broader business.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Act as a key point of contact for vendor and third-party relationships relevant to infrastructure delivery. </li> </ul> Required Qualifications & Experience: <ul> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 4 years in a senior technical leadership or management role.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Proven experience managing infrastructure operations across enterprise environments (on-premises, cloud, hybrid).</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Demonstrable experience leading complex technology infrastructure projects using structured project management methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains: server and virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V), networking, storage, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and identity management (Active Directory, Entra ID).</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strong understanding of ITIL service management principles.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience operating in regulated financial services or professional services environments is a strong advantage. </li> </ul> Desirable Qualifications: <ul> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Professional certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL 4, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Familiarity with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tooling.</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell). </li> </ul> Key Competencies: <ul> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strategic thinking with strong operational execution capability</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive clarity in complex environments</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Results-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement</li> <li style="font-family:tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without direct authority</li> </ul> WHAT WE OFFER We are committed to supporting your development, advancing your career, and providing benefits that matter to you.
