For more than 150 years, Exentec Hargreaves has proved our value as the largest and most unique construction engineering business specialising in HVAC in the Energy & Decommissioning, Defence and Transport sectors.</p> <p><br>The Project Engineer is responsible for the flawless delivery of Engineering work scope, ensuring customer and legislative requirements are met in line with project timescales, cost, quality and safely executed </p> <p><br><strong>Key Accountabilities</strong></p> <p><br><strong>Project Planning & Coordination </strong></p> <p><br>• Develop project schedules and milestones <br>• Coordinate with design engineers, contractors, and suppliers <br>• Review project scope and ensure alignment with client requirements <br>• Attend project meetings and provide technical input </p> <p><br><strong>Technical Oversight </strong></p> <p><br>• Review and validate HVAC designs and drawings <br>• Ensure compliance with codes, standards (e.g., Dw144), and specifications <br>• Approve equipment selections and submittals <br>• Resolve technical issues during design and construction phases </p> <p><br><strong>Site Execution & Supervision </strong></p> <p><br>• Monitor installation activities for quality and safety <br>• Conduct site inspections and verify work against drawings <br>• Coordinate commissioning and testing of HVAC systems <br>• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment </p> <p><br><strong>Documentation & Reporting </strong></p> <p><br>• Maintain project documentation (RFIs, change orders, progress reports) <br>• Prepare handover documents and O&M manuals <br>• Track project costs and support budget control <br>• Report progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed </p> <p><br><strong>Client & Stakeholder Engagement </strong></p> <p><br>• Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and expectations <br>• Provide technical presentations and updates <br>• Manage client feedback and ensure satisfaction <br>• Support post-installation troubleshooting and warranty issues</p> <p><br><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <p><br>• A minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services<br>• Excellent knowledge in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms - structural, piping, maintainability, transportation etc<br>• Modular design and manufacture<br>• Awareness of industry standards and legislation including CE marking<br>• Customer facing, with high degree of commercial awareness<br>• Understanding of requirements management and configuration and change management<br>• Ideally experienced in HVAC design and design of bespoke mechanical equipment in Nuclear applications<br>• Excellent knowledge in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms - structural, piping, maintainability, transportation etc<br>• Modular design and manufacture<br>• Awareness of industry standards and legislation including CE marking<br>• Customer facing, with high degree of commercial awareness<br>• Understanding of requirements management and configuration and change management<br>• Ideally experienced in HVAC design and design of bespoke mechanical equipment in Nuclear applications<br>• Tendering and delivery through the full project lifecycle<br>• RIBA conversant<br>• Excellent communication skills</p><p> </p> <p>For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
