Visa Sponsorship is not available 1.00 FTE- 8 hour shift, 40 hour week 191 work contract- August 3, 2026 to May 28, 2027 SUMMARY: The Los Alamos Public Schools' Intensive Learning Program (ILP) provides a constellation of supports and services for students with significant delays in cognitive and communication skills. The ILP serves students in grades K-6 through two self-contained classrooms at Aspen and Pinon Elementary Schools. The program is designed to help students make progress in the areas of social skills, academic skills, behavior, language, self-regulation and communication across all environments. The students receive highly specialized instruction within the program and in inclusion classrooms, as appropriate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs;

• Participate in ongoing training in positive behavior supports, behavior de-escalation procedures, and other specialized instructional strategies, as needed;

• Train and coordinate Instructional Assistants (IAs) to support students in meeting their IEP goals, both in the ILP classroom and in the general education setting;

• Facilitate and support inclusion opportunities for students;

• Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems;

• Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for caseload students;

• Schedule and write annual IEPs, including present levels of performance and quarterly progress towards goals;

• Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications;

• Provide ongoing positive communication with parents;

• Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals;

• Consult effectively with general education teachers and specialists to support students in inclusive settings

Qualification Requirements:

• Must possess an active NM Special Education K-12 teaching license.

Education and Experience:

• Must possess NM Special Education K-12 License

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

• Experience and/or training in strategies to support students with autism and intellectual disability desired.
