Special Education Required: No Position Summary The McKeesport Area School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students across all grade levels. This position plays a critical role in fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment through assessment, consultation, intervention, and collaboration with students, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological and academic assessments to evaluate student strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.

• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Provide counseling and intervention services to support students' mental health and well-being.

• Partner with teachers and administrators to develop strategies addressing academic and behavioral challenges.

• Deliver consultation and professional development to staff on topics such as trauma-informed practices, behavior management, and inclusive education.

• Support crisis intervention efforts and provide immediate assistance during critical incidents.

• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.

• Valid Pennsylvania School Psychologist Certification (or eligibility to obtain).

• Experience in a school setting preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of special education laws, psychological assessments, and evidence-based intervention practices.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive educational practices.
