QualificationsTo qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Developing cybersecurity plans, strategy, and policy to support organizational cybersecurity initiatives that support safety and security of ports and waterways. Providing cybersecurity expertise, assistance and recommendations to protect critical port infrastructure, navigable waters, personnel, facilities, and vessels. Conducting cybersecurity training, outreach and awareness to a variety of stakeholders to mitigate cyber risks to ports, personnel, and vessels. Major DutiesYou will serve as a MARINE TRANS SYS SPEC (CYBER) and be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of all hazards and cybersecurity related executive orders, acts, regulations, laws, and Coast Guard policy supporting the safety and security of ports and waterways. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Assists in the implementation of new laws, regulations, policies and other directives impacting cybersecurity in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) within the MTS Provides expertise in the review/recommendations of facility security plans and assessments in coordination with Facility Inspectors and Facility Security Officers Coordinates with applicable cybersecurity programs within the Coast Guard, interagency, and private industry to support cybersecurity awareness initiatives Responds to crises or urgent situations within the pertinent domain to assist in mitigating immediate and potential threats when requestedRequirementsAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
