About this role

As a Shipboard Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems onboard ships and maritime installations. You will work with a variety of systems, including power distribution, lighting, navigation equipment, automation systems, and communication networks. Your daily responsibilities include: - Installing and connecting electrical systems onboard vessels; - Reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics; - Inspecting, testing, and commissioning maritime electrical installations; - Diagnosing and resolving electrical and technical faults; - Performing maintenance and repair activities on onboard systems; - Supporting refit, modernization, and new-build projects. You will primarily work at shipyards, ports, and onboard vessels, with occasional travel required for project support and sea trials. - Completed MBO education in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; - Relevant experience as an electrician, preferably within shipbuilding, maritime, or offshore environments; - Knowledge of maritime electrical systems and regulations is an advantage; - Valid VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one; - Driving license B; - Flexible, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude; - Ability to work independently and as part of a team; - Good command of Dutch and/or English.
