Safety and Product Quality During the preparation of your task, you will think and act proactively to ensure flawless operations in consultation with the first hierarchical line (FM/CB), with an emphasis on safety during loading/unloading operations. In consultation with the first hierarchical line (FM/CB), you will oversee the continuous adherence to safety and quality instructions on the vessel. The hierarchical line, including the Foreman and possibly a Ceelbaas, lead one or more teams and share responsibility for the safety and well-being of these people during the execution of their tasks as stated in the CODEX and their job profiles. Identification of accidents and damage incidents. Preparation of the corresponding accident or damage reports within a specific timeframe. Primarily administrative monitoring of the number of accidents/incidents. Act as an ambassador and coach to ensure efficient collaboration. Organization Clear communication (flow) of all relevant information to the Foreman, fellow Operations Officers, hierarchical line, and possible third parties (ship management, agents, surveyors, etc.). Coordination between the numerous factors and different actors is crucial for the proper monitoring of operations. In consultation with the first hierarchical line (FM/CB), correctly assess and address daily operational issues. Continuously respond to changing circumstances and monitor operations during one shift. Contribute ideas for improving operations and formulate comments and suggestions for improvement. Managing Staff Assist Foreman and Overlooker with necessary information (use Take 5, follow SOP, stowage and cargo information, etc.). In consultation with them, inform dispatch in case of deviations. Reporting Prepare accurate and complete performance and quality reports (Operation report) based on information from staff planning, assistant terminal manager, and own checks on the vessel. Report serious and/or structural issues to the assistant terminal manager and terminal manager. Report deviations (e.g., start-up and shifting) via TOS (completing ship dossier). Administration Prepare ship operations: Take 5, planning based on stowage plan/quay data and customer (planner/CO), shifting, yard plan, routes, and various other details. Maintain good communication with agency/planner/crew before and during ship operations. Technical Competencies Languages: Dutch/English, basic knowledge of French Computer skills: knowledge of Office packages with emphasis on Excel proficiency Spatial awareness, numerical insight Nautical knowledge/experience
