Role Name: Expert Interoperability - Data Architect (Expert) Location: Ghent and Brussels, Belgium Remote Work: Yes (Hybrid – Digital and Onsite Collaboration Based on Agreement) Start Date: 20/07/2026 End Date: 31/12/2026 Language Requirement: Dutch (CEFR C2) Context / Project Background Eigen Vermogen Digitaal Vlaanderen is looking for an Expert Interoperability Data Architect to support the further development and improvement of the Interoperability Guide and its associated interoperability instruments. The consultant will critically review and challenge the Interoperability Guide, evaluate its clarity, applicability, and internal consistency, and provide concrete recommendations for improvement. The role is advisory and supportive, without decision-making authority or direct implementation responsibility within partner organisations. The assignment focuses on data architecture, interoperability, linked open data, standards, information modelling, and e-government. The consultant will act as a senior content expert and sparring partner for complex interoperability questions. Required Skills & Expertise Must Have Minimum 8 years of experience as a Data Architect in projects involving complex data architecture. Experience with the European Interoperability Framework. Experience with linked data web APIs. Minimum 8 years of experience with Linked Open Data. Experience developing data strategy and data architecture. Dutch language proficiency at CEFR C2 level. Willingness to sign and submit the required NDA. Should Have Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Lead. Experience translating conceptual information models into logical data models. Data Management experience. E-government experience. Experience working with data standards. Knowledge of programming and scripting languages. Knowledge of OSLO and SEMIC. Strong analytical and advisory capabilities. Experience preparing technical recommendations and final reports.
