About this role

We are seeking a Data Engineer II to join the Japan Consumer Innovation Measurement and Optimization Science Team (JCI MOST), which builds the data infrastructure powering Japan's Cost-to-Serve (CtS) program. You will own the end-to-end data pipelines that enable cost visibility, automated business reviews, and AI-driven insights for supply chain optimization across Amazon Japan. This role has two primary workstreams: (1) automating executive business reviews (xBR) — replacing manual reporting with scalable, self-refreshing data products that serve leadership at cadence; and (2) building the inbound cost data pipeline — creating ASIN-level inbound cost visibility that does not exist today. You will work alongside applied scientists, economists, and product managers, building the data foundation that powers COSTA AI (our GenAI-driven cost intelligence agent), causal science models, and financial simulation tools used by VP-level leadership across Amazon Japan. At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture. Key job responsibilities -Build automated pipelines powering CtS business reviews — eliminating manual data pulls -Design and build the inbound cost data pipeline (vendor/ASIN/lane level visibility) -Build data infrastructure supporting GenAI agents and causal science models -Manage AWS resources (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR) and deploy infrastructure-as-code
