Trauma EducationDepartment: Trauma NBReports To: Provincial Medical Director, Trauma NBPosition Control Number: N/AFTE: 0.2 FTE ( 7.5 hours per week)Classification: ContractHours of Work: Primarily weekdays; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.Position SummaryTrauma New Brunswick (Trauma NB) is a provincial partnership of Horizon Health Network, Vitalité Health Network, Ambulance NB, and the New Brunswick Department of Health. Trauma NB coordinates trauma care, education, research, and injury prevention across New Brunswick.The Physician Lead ? Trauma Education provides provincial leadership for Trauma NB's trauma educational initiatives. Working closely with the Provincial Medical Director, Trauma NB staff, and provincial simulation faculty, the Physician Lead ensures delivery of a high?quality, evidence?informed, psychologically safe, and clinically relevant trauma simulation program that aligns with provincial trauma system priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical and Educational LeadershipProvide clinical leadership and oversight for provincial trauma simulation.Identify, develop, mentor, and evaluate trauma simulation faculty.Promote a culture of psychological safety, professional engagement, and continuous improvement.Be available as a clinical resource for ATLS coordinators regarding faculty development, quality delivery, and course structure/delivery decisions. Course director/instructor/eligibility would be an asset.Curriculum and Simulation DesignCoordinate design, development, and implementation of interdisciplinary, in?situ trauma simulations in collaboration with available programs/resources within RHAs and Trauma NBCoordinate development and validation of all trauma simulation curricula and clinical content in programs delivered within each RHA relevant to trauma care.Design, develop, and implement a procedural skills curriculum relevant to emergency procedures for the trauma patient.Ensure alignment with Trauma NB priorities, policies, consensus statements, as well as the best available medical and educational evidence.Program Quality, Evaluation, and AccreditationCollaborate with Trauma NB education specialist on data collection, analysis, and reporting related to learner needs, outcomes, faculty development, and program performance.Coordinate development of pre?learning, post?learning, and simulation session packagesApply proven faculty development and retention strategies.Program DeliveryIn collaboration with Trauma NB staff and in collaboration with leaders within the RHAs, implement delivery high?quality, in?situ trauma simulation sessions across the province.Adapt simulation activities to rural, regional, and tertiary care contexts.Liaise with knowledge translation specialist to incorporate proven strategies for dissemination of Trauma NB, and established clinical aids.Implement physician skills curricula.Reporting and AccountabilityPrepare required reports:End?of?Year (April): Program performance against annual objectives.Mid?Year (October): Forward planning report linking priorities with resource needs.Sessional Reports: In conjunction with participating Trauma NB staff and/or simulation faculty, submit post?session summaries identifying strengths, vulnerabilities, and faculty development opportunities.Stakeholder EngagementMaintain effective communication with Trauma NB partners, including Horizon Health Network, Vitalité Health Network, Ambulance NB, and the NB Department of Health - as relevant, in conjunction with Trauma NB leadership where appropriate.Contribute to Trauma NB strategic and operational planning.Program OperationsMaintain a work schedule defined at least six weeks in advance, when at all possible.Maintain regular communication with Trauma NB leadership.Maintain accurate records of activities and time spent in accordance with contractual requirements.Qualifications and
