Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Ship brokerage firm. Tasks: Prepare and process import and export documents and other forms on behalf of clients. Sign import and export documents on behalf of clients using power of attorney. Arrange for payment of duties, taxes, storage and transportation of imported goods. Prepare contracts and other papers. Negotiate price when purchasing or selling. Advise clients on insurance requirements and other custom related matters. Arrange for insurance coverage for cargo or ships. Arrange for registration and licensing of ships.
