About this role
Supervise, lead, and direct the assigned maintenance function. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of plant equipment, organizing and monitoring work processes, and coordination of outside contractors. May schedule and supervise fire protection and/or plant service activities to meet the needs of various departments and maintain the mill grounds.
The salary range for this position is $75,525 - $125,875.
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
This position is bonus eligible, with a target value of 10% of salary.
Operational:
• Assign task/work orders and follow up with crew when necessary to ensure that work is completed on schedule.
• Identify and correct any potential problems (troubleshooting) and take appropriate action necessary to prevent serious equipment failure.
• Monitor Predictive & Preventative Maintenance (PM) actives and follow up to maximize machine efficiency and availability.
• Plan effective use of available resources and assist in the development of process, design, and operational improvements.
• Identify possible cost savings in all areas of operation.
• Assist operations to achieve budgeted production rates.
• Coordinate activities of outside contractors in compliance with the site's contractor program.
• Oversee Supply Room day to day operations.
• Manage supply levels and spare parts as needed.
Safety & Environmental:
• Maintain a safe facility and a work climate conductive to safe working practices. (Stress lock-out tag-out with each employee.)
• Provide information and training on OSHA rules and regulations and additional site procedures ensuring that all safety methods are in place, fully implemented, and training documented to guarantee a safe, clean and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors.
• Conduct crew safety meetings as required.
Leadership:
• Provide information and training for crew on all equipment and processes in area of responsibility.
• Assess the needs of the crew and implement developmental processes (e.g., coaching, counselling, taking corrective action, mentoring, etc.) to continuously improve their performance.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge/expertise.
• Provide an atmosphere that leads to continual improving in safety, quality, and productivity.
• Stress importance of Customer Service for both maintenance and plant services (if applicable).
• Maintain good working relationships with other departments in the mill.
• Provide leadership for all maintenance employees.
• Provide all Maintenance with work schedule and schedule vacations as needed.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or G.E.D., required. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of related maintenance experience with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience within a mill and/or on a major project.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Intermediate proficiency in a maintenance management system.
• Demonstrated expertise with solving problems related to people, process, and equipment are essential, as is the ability to lead change and compete at world-class levels.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Possess the ability to effectively train and evaluate personnel.
