About this role
Supports daily branch operations by delivering exceptional counter/phone service while also performing warehouse and light production responsibilities. This role processes orders and transactions, receives stocks inventory, builds and quality-checks hose assemblies, and prepares products for customer pickup, local delivery, or shipment in a fast-paced, team-oriented industrial distribution environment.
Salary: $20 - $ 24 | DOE
Primary:
• Provide prompt, professional counter, phone, and electronic customer service; respond to inquiries, orders, and complaints using effective problem-solving.
• Provide accurate product and basic technical information; learn and apply product knowledge to support customer needs.
• Process sales, quotes, and/or production orders in the system; maintain accurate documentation, item locations, and required paperwork (including invoicing as applicable).
• Estimate and communicate order/delivery timelines based on inventory levels, supplier availability, and production schedules.
• Perform outbound follow-ups with customers via phone/email as needed.
• Receive, inspect, unload, and verify incoming products; receive items into the system and stock them to proper locations.
• Pull, pick, allocate, and distribute product to fulfill orders; operate RF scanner as required.
• Build hose assemblies; assist with testing and finishing; utilize applicable tools and machines; perform quality checks on assemblies before release.
• Package, label, shrink wrap, stage, and ship orders using approved methods (national carriers and customer pickup); ensure shipments are accurate and secure.
• Support inventory control activities including cycle counts; administer quality control to prevent damaged products from being received or shipped.
• Make local pickups and deliveries as assigned; communicate positively with customers, delivery personnel, and team members to ensure smooth flow of orders and product.
• Complete required safety and equipment training; operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed and in compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; comply with and enforce company rules, safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Work Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and personalities.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; willingness to learn new software programs (Epicor Prophet 21 experience a plus).
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with industrial/hydraulic hose and fittings (Parker Hannifin experience a plus) preferred.
• Forklift certification (or ability to become certified) preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (where driving is required).
• Regular, reliable, and punctual on-site attendance required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The essential functions of this position will require the employee to perform the following physical activities:
• Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds.
• Stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling.
• Constantly walking/standing on cement flooring
• Climbing ladders as needed
• Working conditions involve a fast-paced warehouse/branch environment containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature, and inventory in various storage arrangements.
• Local driving may be required for pickups and deliveries.
