What You Will Be Doing:
Reporting directly to the Food Service Purchaser, the Storeroom Worker is responsible for the receipt, care, and delivery of supplies to the appropriate storage areas.
Essential Functions:

• Assist the Food Service Purchaser receiving deliveries by properly checking in orders according to procedures and placing stock into inventory.
• Responsible to ensure that all storeroom and related areas are kept clean and sanitary according to the Chicago Health Department and Food Service standards at all times.
• Responsible to properly date stock and use “fist in, first out” principle when putting stock away.
• Ensure that proper arrangement of stock in storeroom, coolers, and freezers are maintained daily.
• Responsible for the neat and orderly maintenance of all storerooms, coolers, and freezers.
• Completion of all authorized requisitions and deliver to specified areas at times requested.
• Performs related and special duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• Superior organizational skills and able to give careful attention to detail
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Physically able to lift and move boxes and items which weigh 35 pounds.
Preferred Requirements:
• Prior food service experience
Work Environment/Conditions:
This position operates in back of the house kitchen and storeroom environment. The role routinely uses standard restaurant equipment such as carts, pallet jack, and computers.
