Kinetic Construction Ltd. has an opportunity at our either our Victoria or Vancouver branch for a Director of Health, Safety and Environment to ensure:

• Kinetic maintains a high-performing HSE management system that enables safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery.

• Operational leaders own health and safety by integrating it into planning, decision-making, and project execution.

• Kinetic has a proactive safety culture where employees identify risks, speak up, and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Regulatory compliance, COR certification, and client HSE requirements are consistently achieved while organizational risks are effectively managed.

• Serious incidents and organizational risks are managed effectively, minimizing impacts on people, projects, reputation, and the business.

• Kinetic's HSE management system continuously improves through stronger leadership, better performance, and organizational learning.

• Health and safety is embedded in Operations, with leaders owning performance and the HSE function providing strategic leadership, governance, and expertise.

The wage band for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 annually and is based on relevant skills and experience.

Position Specifications

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an HSE Leadership role with demonstrated success in safety culture improvement

• 10+ years of experience in an HSE Role

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Management, Business, or a related discipline.

• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, or the ability to obtain the designation within a reasonable period, is considered a strong asset.

• NCSO CHSC, Gold Seal, or equivalent professional credentials are considered assets.

• OHS experience within the construction industry is considered a strong asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Expert knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Strong understanding of construction operations, project delivery, and risk management.

• Experience developing and improving Health, Safety and Environment management systems, policies, and standards.

• Exceptional leadership, influencing, coaching, and relationship-building skills.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance safety, operational, and commercial priorities.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and build a positive safety culture.

• Ability to travel regularly to company branches and project sites.
