As a Part-Time Laboratory Technician, you'll support product development through laboratory testing, sample preparation, data collection, and pilot plant activities while working alongside experienced scientists and technical professionals.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support product development initiatives by performing routine analytical testing, assisting with formulation activities, and contributing to experimental trials in our laboratory, pilot plant, and production environments.
• Execute standardized testing procedures and protocols to generate accurate, reliable data for formulation and process development projects.
• Prepare samples, materials, and laboratory equipment for routine testing and experimental activities.
• Review and document routine experimental results using established guidelines and scientific direction.
• Accurately enter and maintain data in Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) and other documentation systems, ensuring compliance with data integrity and recordkeeping standards.
• Collaborate with scientists, technicians, and cross-functional team members to support project objectives and maintain efficient workflow.
• Prepare and package high-volume sample requests for customer evaluations, trade shows, sales activities, and internal testing, often requiring the production of large quantities of a single prototype or formulation.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) at all times.
• Demonstrate a strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement through feedback and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, &/OR QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate degree (A.S.) in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Chemical Technology, or a related scientific field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior laboratory coursework, internship experience, or industry experience preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory practices, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and established testing methods.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in testing, sample preparation, and data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment.

TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This position is generally expected to work approximately 30 hours per week, with schedules varying based on business and project needs.
• Work is performed in an office, laboratory, pilot plant, and kitchen environments.
• Regularly works around laboratory equipment, machinery, and moving mechanical parts.
• May be exposed to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and other materials common to laboratory and product development settings.
• Must adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Minimal travel is expected.
