Fox Rothschild is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its newest office in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The individual will have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a wide variety of litigation matters, including but not limited to: defense of high-stakes medical and professional negligence claims; and investigation and litigation of healthcare regulatory matters, construction litigation, employment litigation and commercial/corporate litigation.
Primary Responsibilities
• Assisting with pre-litigation strategies to collect pertinent information, evaluate documents and exhibits, and identify witnesses;
• Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys;
• Analyzing records, including medical records, to identify key facts and considerations;
• Creation of chronologies and synthesizing evidence;
• Managing, tracking, and creating structures to control and easily access discovery documents and other case related materials;
• Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria;
• Coordinating with clients, claims professionals, medical professionals, and expert witnesses to assess liability and assist with the preparation of defense strategies;
• Critical date management for all required benchmarks/deadlines;
• Assist with the preparation of court filings, including cite and fact checking legal briefs, cross-reference checks, confirming proper Bluebook citation, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices;
• Summarizing depositions and other transcripts;
• Compose and disseminate correspondence as required;
• Coordination of exhibits and materials for court hearings and to comply with pre-trial orders;
• Working closely and directly with attorneys and clients during all phases of litigation; and
• Additional responsibilities include supporting attorneys during trial, including assistance with creation of demonstratives and courtroom presentation/support.

• Working knowledge of Florida's and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and all related court filing procedures and processes.

• Working knowledge of document review platforms, including Relativity and document/deposition management platforms, including Everchron.
• Familiarity with AI-based platforms, including Harvey.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research.
Qualifications
• BA or BS degree preferred.
• Associate's degree or paralegal certificate with eight (8) years of comparable work experience required.
• Ability to multitask using analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate flexibility regarding client and legal team requests.
• Achieve high level of productivity.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are often necessary in carrying out job duties.
