About this role

Jeppesen ForeFlight builds industry-leading aviation software used by pilots, flight departments, aircraft operators, and major airlines worldwide. As a high-growth, private equity-backed company, we are focused on scaling our operations, strengthening our product portfolio, and defining the future of aviation technology.

Our team combines deep aviation domain expertise with a collaborative, high-performance culture to solve complex problems across flight planning, dispatch, charts, aeronautical data, airport operations, mobile applications, enterprise workflows, and connected aviation systems.

About The Role

We are looking for a Sr. Director of Product Management to lead a major product portfolio and help shape the next generation of Jeppesen ForeFlight products.

This is a senior product leadership role for someone who can operate at both strategic and executional levels: setting vision, developing evidence-based roadmaps, coaching product managers, engaging directly with customers, and partnering deeply with Engineering, Design, Data, Sales, Marketing, Support, and aviation domain experts.

The ideal candidate is an AI-forward, builder-mindset product leader who understands how to turn complex workflows into intuitive, trusted, high-impact software. Aviation experience is strongly preferred, especially exposure to pilots, flight departments, airlines, dispatch, avionics, airport operations, aeronautical data, EFBs, or geospatial/navigation products, but it is not required for an exceptional product leader with strong technical depth and curiosity.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for a major Jeppesen ForeFlight product portfolio.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers, raising the bar for discovery, product judgment, customer empathy, prioritization, communication, and measurable outcomes.

• Develop deep subject-matter expertise in aviation workflows, aeronautical data, customer operations, and the needs of pilots, dispatchers, administrators, operators, and enterprise customers.

• Translate customer feedback, market research, operational data, and business objectives into thoughtful, problem-oriented product requirements.

• Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Production, Business Intelligence, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales, Support, Legal, and external customers to bring products and features to market.

• Communicate product requirements clearly to software engineering, data production, and design teams, ensuring alignment across roadmap targets, data needs, product specifications, and release plans.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers, prospects, aviation partners, OEMs, and internal stakeholders.

• Pitch senior leadership on product vision, business cases, roadmap priorities, investment opportunities, competitive responses, and product strategy.

• Identify and lead opportunities to apply AI, automation, predictive intelligence, workflow intelligence, and agentic experiences to improve customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and safety.

• Develop multi-phase product plans, product architecture narratives, business cases, launch plans, pricing inputs, adoption plans, and lifecycle management processes.

• Define KPIs, OKRs, and product success metrics; use quantitative and qualitative evidence to guide prioritization and investment.

• Coordinate across product portfolios to ensure alignment across ForeFlight Mobile, Flight Deck, Dispatch, Enterprise, Data, Documents, Content, and related platform capabilities.

• Represent Jeppesen ForeFlight at customer meetings, partner discussions, trade shows, industry events, and executive briefings.

Basic Qualifications

• 12+ years of product management experience, including significant experience leading product managers or product teams.

• Demonstrated success delivering complex software products and driving measurable business outcomes at a technology company.

• Experience owning product strategy, roadmap development, discovery, delivery, launch, adoption, and lifecycle management.

• Strong technical fluency; able to work credibly with software, mobile, platform, data, geospatial, and infrastructure teams.

• AI-forward product mindset, with practical interest or experience in AI-enabled workflows, copilots, agentic systems, automation, predictive intelligence, data products, or decision-support software.

• Strong analytical skills, including experience with data analysis, experimentation, market research, KPI/OKR tracking, and business case development.

• Excellent listening skills and customer discovery instincts; able to isolate the real customer problem beneath requests.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.

• Ability to operate independently in a high-growth, high-ambiguity environment while aligning cross-functional teams.

• Strong project administration and execution discipline; able to bring the right people into the right room, establish milestones, manage tradeoffs, and drive high-quality delivery.

• Ability to mentor product managers and lead cross-functional teams effectively.

• Strong product taste and systems thinking; able to simplify complex technical and operational workflows without losing domain nuance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aviation experience or enthusiasm strongly preferred.

• Pilot certificate, dispatcher experience, military aviation background, airline operations exposure, or business aviation experience.

• Experience with aviation software, EFBs, flight planning, dispatch, airport operations, runway safety, charts, navigation, aeronautical data, weather, geospatial tools, or mapping platforms.

• Experience working with avionics systems, OEM partners, airlines, aeronautical data providers, or aviation technology companies such as Collins Aerospace, Honeywell, Garmin, Boeing, or similar.

• Experience with enterprise SaaS, mobile applications, platform products, data products, or mission-critical operational software.

• Experience with AI product patterns such as human-in-the-loop review, explainability, audit trails, confidence/uncertainty design, guardrails, evaluations, or automation governance.

• MBA or advanced degree preferred, but not required
