About this role

Job Summary

• Senior working, union leader responsible for coordinating multiple erection crews and supporting the successful execution of field operations across assigned projects.

• When designated, and as required, executes hands-on erection installation and corresponding tasks as the Foreperson.

• Provide oversight, training, technical guidance, workforce coordination, and operational support to field crew members.

• Partner with the General Superintendent and Field Superintendents in the region to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Fabcon quality standards throughout the lifecycle of the entire project.

• Success is measured through a variety of metrics including safety, crew efficiencies, schedule attainment, first-time quality, customer satisfaction, and the development of high-performing Forepersons.

Objectives and Key Outcomes

• Lead, by example, as a working foreperson, while providing coaching and technical guidance to all field crew members.

• When designated, coordinate daily field activities across multiple jobsites to maximize labor utilization, equipment usage, and project efficiency.

• Maintain the highest standards of safety by ensuring compliance with OSHA, ISO, DOT, union agreements, and Fabcon policies.

• Maintain the highest standards of Quality First performance in alignment with Fabcon, PCI and industry standards.

• Support project planning by reviewing schedules, manpower needs, equipment requirements, material receipts, site conditions and installation sequencing before work begins and continuously during ongoing work.

• Resolve field issues through collaboration with the Designated Field Superintendent and in conjunction with Project Management, Engineering, Drafting, Production, Shipping, and customers.

• Monitor project progress and proactively communicate schedule risks, resource needs, quality concerns, completion dates, and customer issues to all appropriate internal teams.

• Ensure accurate completion of payroll activities, field production reporting, daily logs, equipment documentation, and field performance reporting.

• Develop future leaders by mentoring Forepersons and supporting Field Crew members, while reinforcing Fabcon standards and best practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of precast erection or heavy construction experience.

• Minimum 3 years as a Foreperson or equivalent field leadership role.

• Extensive experience leading complex commercial or industrial erection projects.

• Experience coordinating multiple crews and concurrent projects preferred.

Technical Knowledge

• Expert knowledge of precast erection methods, rigging, crane operations, building layout, welding, and other field construction scopes.

• Ability to interpret erection drawings, shop drawings, and construction documents.

• Strong understanding of OSHA, ISO, DOT regulations, and union work practices.

• Ability to identify project risks and implement proactive solutions.

• Knowledge of scheduling, manpower planning, equipment coordination, and production sequencing.

Leadership Skills

Education / Certifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Driver's License

Preferred

• OSHA 30 Certification.

• Welding Certification.

• NCCER or equivalent construction certifications.

Working Conditions

• Primary work location is active construction jobsites/office setting.

• This is a working leadership position requiring regular participation in all Fabcon field activities.

• Frequent travel between assigned jobsites throughout the regions.

• Exposure to all weather conditions, heights, uneven terrain, dust, noise, heavy equipment, and construction hazards.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and trailers, and perform physical construction work.

• Extended hours, overnight travel, and weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
