Position Summary
Crow Holdings Renewables is seeking a Director, Distributed Generation Solar and Storage Development. Illinois or Washington, DC-based candidates are preferred, though qualified candidates in other states will be considered. Travel is required. The role will be responsible for permitting, interconnection, and other development activities for Distributed Generation Solar and Storage projects with a core focus on Illinois and a secondary focus on Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Director will possess a strong understanding of the market and be responsible for creating and executing the development strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
• Coordinate closely with real estate, permitting, transmission & interconnection, engineering, construction, legal, and finance teams to advance projects efficiently on due diligence and project deliverables
• Navigate the Interconnection process with utilities, tracking all milestones, due dates, fees, etc.
• Secure land use permits and other pre-construction approvals from local, regional and state agencies
• Prepare projects for construction commencement in coordination with CHR's operations team
• Drive project schedules, budgets, and risk management from early development through notice‑to‑proceed for construction or sale
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, utilities, and municipalities, throughout the development lifecycle
• Prepare budget requests to obtain internal approvals for major project expenses
• Support senior Structured Finance team members in evaluating, underwriting, and executing tax equity, debt, and preferred equity financings through financial analysis, due diligence, and the development and maintenance of sophisticated financial models.
Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Minimum 5 years Community, Utility-scale solar and/or Storage development with demonstrated track record of bringing projects to NTP required. 1-2 years Financial Modeling experience preferred.
• Dynamic and resourceful; ability to research, learn, and lead new processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to tailor communication to different types of audiences, such as farmers, utility employees, and government employees
• Ability to forge relationships and build consensus with key stakeholders
• Strong problem solver who can independently resolve complex, novel issues while recognizing when collaboration and support are needed
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated achiever with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
