About the Role
As a Flow Assist, you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring workstations are ready, identifying and resolving roadblocks, and supporting real-time production flow across the manufacturing floor. You'll execute the BOSS process, maintain accurate production tracking, complete audits, and work closely with Flow Leaders, Dispatch, Quality, and production teams to keep priority work moving.
This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role that requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Your work directly impacts production stability, on-time delivery, and the overall success of the manufacturing operation.
What You'll Do
• Execute the BOSS process across assigned production stations.
• Verify station readiness and ensure all work areas are prepared for production.
• Monitor production flow and identify roadblocks before they impact throughput.
• Respond quickly to production issues and escalate critical concerns when required.
• Maintain accurate Flow Tracker updates, including station status and production roadblocks.
• Complete scheduled process and station audits while ensuring compliance with standard work.
• Coordinate with Dispatch to support operator allocation and priority production jobs.
• Communicate staffing concerns, production holds, and queue issues to Flow Leaders.
• Prepare accurate end-of-shift reports and ensure all documentation is completed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues and recommending process improvements.
What You Need (Required Qualifications)
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, operations, or industrial environment.
• Experience coordinating work across multiple teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience identifying and resolving operational issues in real time.
Technical Skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable using production tracking systems and digital reporting tools.
• Ability to interpret production priorities and respond to changing conditions.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation skills.
Other Requirements
• Ability to work on-site in Wilmington, NC.
• Ability to spend extended periods standing and walking throughout the production floor.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as required.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
What Would Be Considered an Asset
• Previous experience as a production lead, team lead, flow coordinator, or manufacturing support role.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
• Knowledge of production scheduling or dispatch processes.
• Experience performing quality or process audits.
• Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will:
• Execute the BOSS process independently across assigned production areas.
• Maintain accurate Flow Tracker updates and documentation throughout each shift.
• Consistently respond to production roadblocks quickly while escalating issues appropriately.
• Complete required audits accurately and on schedule.
• Build strong working relationships with Flow Leaders, Dispatch, Quality, and production teams.
• Help improve production flow by identifying recurring issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Our starting annual total compensation package—including base salary and performance incentives—ranges from $45,000 to $65,000 USD, depending on experience.
