Job Summary
Pacific Northern Environmental LLC (PNE LLC) is seeking an EHS Manager & Emergency Management Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service and skills to our company, clients, and employees.
Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.

The EHS Manager & Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for safety training, emergency response planning and coordination and acting as a resource for risk assessments and management, permits, plans, and leads a safe work environment for all employees.
Education and Experience Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred), equivalent field experience considered in lieu of.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in safety management within construction, industrial, or environmental sectors.
• Professional safety certification(s) such as CSP, ASP, or CHST (preferred or ability to obtain).
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, WISHA, EPA, MSHA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Direct experience supporting or leading construction safety activities, including development and oversight of project-specific safety and emergency management plans.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of engaging with personnel from field employees to senior leadership.
• OSHA 500 trainer or MSHA instructor certification preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, safety software platforms, and digital reporting tools.
• Overnight travel required (when directed).
• Driver’s license required and must meet eligibility requirements to be covered under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
Duties and Responsibilities
The EHS Manager & Emergency Management Coordinator possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:
• Leads Emergency Response planning and response efforts for PNE with the VP of Health and Safety
• Coordinates and supports office evacuation drills and emergency response training per office/shop location
• Coordinates initial training and organization of CCS Confined Space Rescue teams, equipment provision, and recurrency training requirements in partnership with the CCS Safety Supervisor
• Liases with regulatory and state/federal emergency response organizations with required, FEMA, State, Local fire departments
• Supports CCS and subcontractor sites 50% of the time, working with CCS ROMS and managers to manage sub-contractor EHS prequalification and oversight for projects
• Supports PNE Construction and subcontractor sites 50% of the time, working with PNE Construction to manage sub-contractor EHS prequalification and oversight for projects
• Conduct construction site safety reviews, inspections, and risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Helps plan, execute, and lead new hire safety training along with other members of PNE’s Safety Team
• Coach and train managers and supervisors on effective execution of EHS programs, safe work practices, and leadership behaviors that promote a strong safety culture.
• Drive continuous improvement through risk identification, trend analysis and corrective action effectiveness.
• Plans and attends monthly safety meetings at all assigned divisions.
• Strong communication with Division Managers to discuss current jobs, conduct safety audits on said locations. Ensuring safety culture, accountability and ownership at all levels of the organization.
• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
• Complete site audits with remarks and findings, communicate these to the appropriate parties.
• Complete inspections involving vacuum trucks and other related equipment.
• Develop Health and Safety Plans for various projects.
• Mill shutdown coordinator, including employee count, night shift-safety meetings, equipment selection, job walks, etc.
• Incident Investigations, Reports, Hospital Visitations
• Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
• Move about the jobsite as needed.
• Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
• Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
• Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
