We have a rare opportunity for an extraordinary Nursing Lead to join Pinnacle Midlands Health Network.

Are you a passionate nursing leader ready to shape the future of primary care? We're looking for an experienced and inspiring Nursing Lead to champion nurse-led services across Pinnacle practices and help drive innovation, excellence, and better outcomes for our communities. You will provide support to the Pinnacle Graduate Nurse Programme, contribute to nursing workforce development planning and support nurses explore development pathways.

In this influential role, your primary care experience will support you to work alongside practice support teams to strengthen nursing capability, support service development, and lead meaningful change. You will empower nurses to work at the top of their scope, foster innovation, and help practices deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will play a key role inproviding effective support and advice to the nursing teams in all Pinnacle sites. This will include the following areas:

• Supporting implementation of the Pinnacle nursing strategy including supporting practices to develop capability of their nursing and primary care assistant roles

• Providing the platform and support for nurses to innovate and grow their role in general practice to ensure nurses are appropriately skilled and capable of supporting patients in their wellness journey

• Guiding primary care nurses in continuous improvement and change management towards new and innovative models of care

• Supporting practices preparing for their accreditation processes (Foundation Standards)

We're looking for someone with strong leadership and change management experience in primary care, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for developing people and improving primary healthcare.

Pinnacle Midlands Health Network is a not-for-profit organisation delivering primary health organisation (PHO) functions to nearly 500,000 people and supporting 80 general practices across the central North Island. The network’s talented workforce is dedicated to improving health outcomes by supporting practices to provide high-quality, patient-centred care and leading innovation in primary healthcare. Pinnacle offers a wide range of services, including clinical support, data insights, workforce development, and community health initiatives - all designed to enhance wellbeing and reduce health inequities throughout the Te Manawa Taki region.

He kōrero mōu: About you

• At least 5 years experience working in primary health care

• Postgraduate or masters qualification in nursing (preferred)

• Current annual practising certificate

• Strong relationship management and communication skills with the ability to influence, inspire and coach clinicians and staff

• Experience leading a team and managing change projects

• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to design, implement and monitor delivery.

• Deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practical application within healthcare

• Resilient, purpose-led, self-motivated, and strong desire to achieve.

• Competent with MS Office and digital collaboration tools.

• Current full driver’s licence.
