Business Need / Purpose of Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years accounting experience within the maritime sector and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project-related accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.

• Prepare, review, and vet customer invoices for accuracy before issuance.

• Follow up with customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.

• Work closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor to process supplier payments and resolve invoice discrepancies.

• Prepare and submit weekly reports on outstanding invoices and payments due.

• Perform account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.

• Manage vendor accounts, including payment terms and supplier relationships.

• Maintain accurate filing systems for financial records and supporting documentation.

• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

• Assist with month-end closing and other finance-related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience in the maritime industry.

• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Experience preparing and reviewing customer invoices.

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a finance team.
