Team Leader Compliance Buller District Council | Westport, New Zealand Permanent | Full-time | 40 Hours per week
Join the Buller District Council Team! | Hono atu ki te roopu Kaunihera a rohe o Buller! We are looking for a Team Leader Compliance to join our Regulatory Services Team. This is a unique leadership opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys working across a diverse regulatory portfolio including Environmental Health, Resource Management Act (RMA) Compliance, and Building Compliance. You’ll be part of the Regulatory Leadership Team and oversee a dedicated team, manage key regulatory contracts, support enforcement and monitoring functions, and help ensure our communities remain safe, healthy, and compliant.

What Will You Do? | Ka aha koe? Key responsibilities will include:
• Lead, mentor and support compliance staff to achieve team objectives
• Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture
• Assist with compliance schedule management, provide advice and undertaking enforcement activities
• Maintain accurate records and an active compliance monitoring schedule
Who Are You? | Ko wai koe? We are looking for someone with:
Essential:
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and compliance processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management capabilities
• Ability to influence outcomes while maintaining positive relationships
Desirable:
• Experience working within a local government compliance environment
• Experience interpreting legislation and applying regulatory requirements
