Job Type: Regular Pay Range: $36.30 - $44.12 Hourly Department: Community Corrections FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt About the Opportunity: The Department of Community Corrections is currently looking to hire a Transition Coordinator to join our team.
The Transition Coordinator provides life skills counseling and program supervision to adult justice-involved individuals (JIIs) in a residential correctional program. The incumbent will screen offenders for admission to the program, orient newly-admitted residents, conduct needs assessments, develop case plans, maintain caseload records of residents, and monitor their probation compliance while in the program.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, corrections, counseling, or a related field; AND one (1) year of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field; OR
• Associate's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, corrections, counseling, or a related field AND two (2) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field; OR
• High school diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field.

About the Department/Division: Washington County Community Corrections (WCCC) provides community supervision for justice-involved individuals (JIIs) who are on probation, parole, or who are serving a sentence within the minimum security Community Corrections Center.
The department supervises approximately 3600 adult JIIs and applies proven behavioral strategies that reduce recidivism and promote community safety. Further, the department serves crime victims and families in their recovery from criminal harm.
A 215-bed custody facility that prepares people serving sentences to successfully transition back into the community. It offers a secure, structured living environment while focusing on accountability, employment, treatment, and skill-building.
