Vitalant is seeking a Hospital Distribution Technician (Union position with SEIU Healthcare) dedicated to making a positive difference. Your impact as a Hospital Distribution Technician is vital. You will support Vitalant's life-saving mission by managing the inventory of blood and blood products and facilitate the packaging and shipment to local hospitals and patients. Whether you are just starting your career, or new to the blood banking industry, we're here to train, mentor and help you grow.
What to Expect
Schedule: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, working every other weekend + On-Call Rotation every 5 weeks.
Starting Pay: $17.50+ based on experience

As a Hospital Distribution Technician you'll get to:
• Receive, prepare, and process hospital blood orders. Ship routing, ASAP and STAT orders of blood and blood products, conducting a visual inspection of each product prior to shipment to ensure order accuracy.
• Communicate with customers regarding order fulfilment, turnaround times, and product availability.
• Maintain accurate hospital service records for transactions and process fees.
• Monitor all storage requirements, service equipment and vehicle work areas.
• Data entry and blood inventory management
• High School diploma or GED required
• Valid in-state driver's license is required, may be required to deliver blood product if needed, but not a main responsibility or frequent.
• Six months of customer service experience required
• Prior healthcare industry experience preferred
• Able to lift 40lbs
